Products feature a painting of the historic Eddy farm of Rochester Hills (now demolished). Local artist Margaret Glinke, whose son once lived in the farmhouse, created the painting and has donated the right to its use by the RAHF. Prints, note cards, wine with the artwork featured on the label and more will be available for sale in the near future.
About Artist Margaret Glinke
Thanks to artist Margaret Glinke and her passion for interpreting and documenting important architechtural resourses, sites important to Michigan's history can remain after proposed demolition of the physical structures.
Last year, the Rochester Hills City Council authorized the demolition of the remaining house on Rochester Road near the Eddington Farms subdivision.
Artist Margaret Glinke has graciously agreed to donate the use of the 'Eddy Farm' art work for RAHF fundraising puposes. The 'Eddy Farm' painting is featured on the signature wine label, notecards and prints will be available for purchase at upcoming events to support RAHF's historic preservation fundraising efforts. The RAHF Board is very grateful to Margaret for this opportunity and her support!
According to her web site, http://glinkestudio.com, Margaret Mayan Glinke ("muggs") was born in Merrill, Michigan and graduated from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids.
Her painting technique consists of an impasto layer of gauze, sand and modeling paste, with layers of transparent acrylic washes. Representational and abstract subjects are executed in a joy filled expression. The technique is best appreciated while viewing the original art, but reflected in the reproductions of her work.
We recomend visiting the Glinke Studios web site for other fine works. The rapidograph ink drawings are detailed renditions of homes, businesses, churches, carousel animals and Great Lakes lighthouses. In-stock paintings and prints are available from the artist. Commissions of original paintings and drawings take about four weeks and gift certificates are available.
